Car: 1998 Mazda Millennia, v6. Stereo works fine but the LED display is scrambled and unreadable. Can I fix this or must it be done in a radio shop?

That would depend on your level of expertise in electronics repair... It's beyond most people.....myself included (hand just isn't steady enough for that fine of soldering anymore) Best thing to do would be to try to get an idea of how much this would cost to repair & compare it to the cost of a new aftermarket deck.... Installing an new system would be way easier than trying to repair the old unit and most places have harness kits available so you don't have to cut the factory connecter..........

I work with technicians who have been repairing factory radios for years. They have a website at (link deleted) and offer free estimates. Hope this helps.

AutoGuy - We are told to remove open links to other sites. I thought twice about yours. If you want use the private message system by clicking on a user name and it remains private. It's not really fair to those who pay for advertising to let it all just go. I doubt you meant any harm, T
