hello,

I have a 2000 ford windstar, I do need front pads, but my car has been "rattling" for a few weeks. when i go to start it up in the morning it squeals (was told the belts r fine), when the car has been running for awhile it no longer does this. but the rattling sound is loud when in park. you can still hear the noise when i am driving low speeds but not high..what could this be? I just had the intake gasket repaired 2 months ago. now this. any suggestions?

kduhaine; The squealing when first started cold is indicative off a belt. If the serpentine belt is a bit loose, or glazed, the slightest bit of moisture can allow it to slip, causing the squeal. With the squeal and the rattling noise combined, makes me think of a faulty tensioner. Have it rechecked. (brakes are THE most important part of a vehicle). Doesn't matter how good/bad the car looks, how good/bad the car runs. You gotta be able to stop that sucker!

Hi. I wanted to state a problem with noises in a PT Cruiser. I'm not sure how to do this.
