Hi All, I have a 1994 or 1995 Ford Tempo 4 cly 70000 miles I don't know the exact engine size but I am sure someone can give me some guidance. Here is the situation: My cousin is going to a put on new brake pads in the front of the car and also new rotors in the front. It is a complex problem so for clarity I will keep it simple. With him changing the pads and rotors which cost me 110.00 in parts thus far how much would this cost if a shop did it and what is a fair price to pay him? Thank you if it helps, I am poor and he's also poor.

Ford SLTS is .7 for pads and .3 for both rotors and .6 for both caliper overhaul (clean, lube and new clips) 1.6hr @ $50hr sounds fair.. as long as he knows what hes doing.

What you do for friends and family is your biz. Rates are high here because costs of just a place to do it is heart stopping. High rates but all goes to overhead. It can cost $50 a day for parking and if by the month more than most very rural areas would get for two bedroom apartment. Friggin' Taxachusetts is nasty. Businesses pay up to double for quarterly tax on the value of the contents of a shop - never mind the building. Residential is less and so far not taxed on your belongings but it's on the books to do so if they want. Hard to defray those costs for here. Elsewhere could be half or less and techs still make the same but really - it's just a game. Average income in general is high here but you need it to live and work here. It's like different currency, T
