LEXUS RX 300 2001 AWD 3.0 VVT 68000 MILES I got this car last year in september from an auction. It was hit in the front but not very bad not evan the airbags was deploid.I did replace the radiator suport ,hood, radiator,ac condenser, fenders and headligts.Since I got it it runs very well the only think i dont like at it is that I feel that the engine is running to high (when i drive 75 miles the engine rpm is at 3000 )which make the car to be a little bit noisy. All the other cars that i had before (sienna 98 with the same engine)wasnt running that high.So I dont know is this normal or there is a problem. p.s. the ckeck engine isnt on nor the other lights in the panel. PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOW SOMETHING PLEASE REPLY AT MY EMAIL diarox2001@yahoo.com

3000RPM @ 75 MPH is certainly not high. This is determined by the gear ratio that was engineered in to vehicle at the factory and cannot be changed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

3000 rpm at 75mph does sound a bit high, to me. My 4x4 Dodge truck runs about 1700 rpm @ 70mph. Are you sure it is going into overdrive? Might want to have a trans. shop check it. Loren SW Washington

When I first answered, I wasn't considering overdrive. The most common ratio for a manual in 4th gear or an auto in 3rd gear is 60MPH @ 3000 but overdrive (if equipped) would certainly bring that down.
