noise in throttle/acceleration??? Sign In

I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre Custom 3800 Series II and while driving above 40+mph, Im getting a "humming" noise. When it's just me in the car, I hear it out of my right ear and if there is a passenger, they hear it out of their left ear. When I hear the "humming" noise, I'll goose the gas pedal a few times and the pitch of the humming will variate... I have rebuilt the entire front end it seems! LOL... complete rebuilt transmission, new GM transmission mount, replaced both sides axle shafts with GM OEM shafts, new lower right control arm. 4 new tires/brakes and rotors all around, new front wheel bearing hubs and a new alternator! The humming occurs in gear D4 but with the transmission fully rebuilt... To me personally, it sounds like the humming is somewhere in the throttle or acceleration since the pitch variates when you goose the pedal when you hear the noise! I'm not an expert on mechanics but has anyone had the same problem that could help me please??? Thank you very much!!!

Probably a bad hub bearing. Have it checked by a professional.

Hammer Time - I have new wheel bearing hubs on the front but that's not to say that 1 isn't bad... also it's a humming noise, not a growling noise. The sound pitch goes higher when you goose the gas and goes lower when you let off. I appreciate your help and will look into the hubs!

Like i said, have a professional listen to it. We can't diagnose a noise we can't hear.
