Tuneful noise Sign In

Hi guys, I have a ford ka 1.2 on a y reg its done about 85,000miles. the only thing different on it is it has wide wheels (just thought id mention it incase it has anything to do with the problem). So the problem is i get a noise that just sounds like a continuous note. It is getting embarrassing when driving through town. It seems to happen the most when ive done a few miles (i travel 16 miles to work) it only stops when i hit the brakes. It has just passed it mot. any ideas?

Re: Tuneful noise Sign In

Guess: Perhaps/probably brake noise from inadequate brake work, a problem or cheap parts? Hard to say but in that it goes away when braking is a strong clue,

Re: Tuneful noise Sign In

I never suggest changing tires by size but probably not the current issue. Brake pads frequently come with a noise maker to alert you they are at the end and the noise is real annoying and goes away typically at first when brakes are applied. Gotta check and even if newer the noise maker could be bent out of adjustment.

Anything that rotates need be checked,

T
