Tapping sound in 05 Pontiac Vibe dash Sign In

We have a 2004 Pontiac Vibe and it recently started making tapping sounds in the dash. It is mainly a constant tap (not overly loud, but you can definately hear it) that happens not only when the car is running, but also when you just turn the key a notch and the battery is running. It seems like it is a fan, but I have no idea why or what to do. I have turned off the heater/air, and it still does it....I also played with all the settings for the fan, and it continues. Any ideas? Thank you! :)

not sure if they are electronicaly controlled in your particular vechical but could be a blend door or selector door motor not functioning properly. Thats just a gusse could be multiple things I would try slowly playing with heater knob and selector knob and see if you can get it to stop.

Thats a good place to start, I know it's a toyota but try unplugging the hazard switch and see if it makes a difference
