Car vibrates w/loud sound when braking. New brakes Sign In

I have a 2006 Pontiac Torrent. V6. 64,000 miles. I had the car in the shop to have the head gaskets replaced. The next day I noticed that when making a hard right turn, for instance into a parking space the car vibrated and make a noise similar to that of the rumble strips on the side of the highway, a bbbbrrrr sort of noise (noises are difficult to explain. I took the car in to have new brakes and tires put on. We asked the shop to check out the noise and they assumed the new brakes fixed the problem. I had rotors and drums replaced. They took it for a test drive and thought there was no more noise. They looked over the front end and didn't see anything that they thought could've made the noise. I was hoping they could diagnose it without paying for another visit to their shop. Earlier the noise began when hitting the brake without having the wheel turned to the right. I made a left turn into my driveway and when the brakes were applied the noise was there again. It's rather loud too. Otherwise the car runs excellent. Any suggestions???

Simple: Noise with braking and pulling! Not right and needs instant repair,

I understand completely that it needs to be fixed. It dosent pull at all when this happens, just vibration and noise and it let's up when you let off the brake. I have already taken it in to get looked at. Just wondering if someone knows exactly what the problem is so they can point me in the right direction.

Easy but needs correction. Bill to original garage/shop in order IMO,

I took it into the shop. This time they rode in the car with my husband to the grocery store parking lot across the street so he could show them when it made the noise. They also had a sensor hooked up to it and found out it was a wheel bearing. They test drove it after and it is no longer making the noise. Thanks for the info. I was worried it would cost way more than the $300 to fix it.

Whole hub wheel bearings aren't free. Safe is the right thing to do and you did it,
