Ok, I have a 99 Saturn SL2 1.9L DOHC, about 110,000. About two weeks ago my car started to make a screeching sound from what sounded like the front driver's side brake. It screeched until I came to a complete stop and then went away. Now, two weeks later the sound has gotten more frequent and now it won't go away even when I come to a complete stop. I originally thought it was just a build up of dust on the rotors/pad but cleaning them showed no results.

Hmmm? At a complete stop the brakes and bearings are all still so that really can't be it. I thought belts were on passenger's side but don't know and noises can travel. If it does it stopped I'd open the hood and check what is making the noise. Probably a belt or pulley?? T
