Yeah that is how I felt with my lovely machine here. Last time I had some major problems it ironically was the fuel pump replaced a few years back. I got the car back and literally within 24 hours it stalled and I almost went off the side of a hill. It turned out to be a PCM computer something that also was a boatload of money but at the time it smelled like I burned out the engine. Maybe it would have been better if it had gone off the cliff...Thanks for trying me to help me out Tom & the rest of y'all.

Good luck with what you decide to do. We are here to help as best we can without being there,

Hey you guys do a great job, let me tell you! I ran some errands and the noise did not come back yet, but I did not drive as far as I did yesterday (or as speedy Sly ) and the engine temp was not as hot as yesterday when I reached ~ 230.

My operating temp. seems to hold around 200 then after 15-20 mins I am getting around 210-230, but it does not seem to be going higher than that.

I will keep your tips in mind and blast the heat on high if it is going any higher temp. but if the noise returns I will probably make that trip up the hill again to the engine shop & I will let y'all know what they came up with.

I tend to over stress about stuff but I heard that if it's not broke, dont' fix it, so I will try to stick to that creed.

Thanks again for everything.

Running heater in an emergency can help but shouldn't vary reading much or any in some vehicles. If somehow the radiator is inadequate it would boost getting rid of heat. So my point is I wonder how well radiator and fan(s) are doing as that if all is right shouldn't make much difference,

Up to 230 would be normal on that car.
