2008 Toyota Camry rattling noise

Hello everyone, my Toyota Camry today had the check engine light come on and then almost immediately a rattling noise starting coming from under the hood when accelerating. When I stopped at a red light, the car wouldn't move until I turned the car off and turned it back on. I used my code reader and got PO117 saying that it could be something with the engine coolant temperature. Would love to get some ideas from you all.

The coolant temp sensor is a vital sensor for fuel mixture but it can't cause a noise. It merely measures temperature.
Unless something came apart and tore the wires off, there is something else wrong.
