When going over bumps, and or turning truck makes a clunking sound. Seems sound only coming from drivers side(wheel area). Inspected, saw a rod that runs vertical, paralell with the strut, this rod has bushings on both ends (top and bottom). Looks like top bushing is beat, most of it has fallen and is dangling around bottom bushing. I shook rod, it has play in it, as opposed to passenger side. These rods are attached at the top, to a "bar" that runs across the front side of the truck, and this "bar" is bolted to the frame. I dont know the name of these parts, "rod" and "bar". I believe the clunking sound is ocurring because of the bad bushing. Any help appreciated.

Sounds like a stabilizer bar pin and bushing. Common to fail and usually easy to replace. Ask for "Stabilizer bar bushing/pin set" and get the higher quality as they usually last longer OE than that but who knows?

The hard part is taking out rusted ones. New in is usually very easy.

It's Sunday - don't know if you can get it today wherever you are. Just get broken one out and it will shut up. Ok to drive if exactly what I think as it's there to control body lean on curves or odd surfaces. Do get broken one out as it's going anyway for a new one (do pairs) and it could damage something else if just left alone as is now,

Thanks for quick reply. Any suggestions as where to get the pins?

I prefer NAPA but should be available anywhere. Ask as there near certainly are two grades. The better grade for lots more money so don't be shocked will probably be the last ones you need. If not available just use the regular but do put grease on that bolt. That when rusted stuck is the hard part of the job. Torches help or power cut off wheels as some IF it's that rusted are like one part and the bolt can get shockingly thin out of you sight.

Guess at range ~ $15 to $70 US. You could check prices before you even headed out at many parts stores. No need to go to Dodge for those and they don't alter alignment. All this if we are on the same page with what's broken and I think we are.

Generic pic here - they look like this. Most would use black bushings........
