2006 Toyota Tundra 4WD 181k miles When I’m going 80 mph and let off accelerator, the truck makes a loud grinding. Doesn’t always do it. Thought it was maybe a bearing so I took in to Toyota and asked them to check front bearings. They replaced left and right front axles and replaced front driver side wheel bearing and hub. $3300, but still the noise started again. I recorded the noise, but the only time I got it decent I had the radio on. https://www.dropbox.com/...y4zyfzun3q0&dl=0

That's what happens when you walk into a repair shop and tell them how to fix your car. You should have asked him to diagnose the noise. I could have told you just from your description that it wasn't wheel bearings. When backing off the throttle is the only thing that triggers the issue, then it has to be something in the drive train, most likely in the differential. You can have a broken transmission mount that moving around causing a universal joint to bind among other possibilities. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
