I just changed out the rear brake pads and rotors on my Odyssey, and now i'm getting a pretty intense grinding sound coming from the rear end. It's completely independent of the engine, as it doesn't increase or go away with more or less throttle, and it's definitely coming from the rear axle. It started immediately after changing the brakes. This same thing happened when I did the brakes on my old Explorer, and I originally thought it was the bearings, so I changed out the wheel hubs on the entire rear axle, and the sound remained; this seems to be the same issue, whatever it was before. Any ideas?

Sounds like you should be letting someone ellse do the brake work. Apparently, something is out of place and it will have to be examined and repaired again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Your best bet is to tear into it again. look for something simple and easy to over look. I would jack car up again and isolate which side. Check the dust cove, sometime they get bent. Did you use a caliper compresion tool or just the good ol channel locks? Sometimes the pistons will bind . If both sides are making noise. I'ld say that someone sold you the wrong parts. Like the rotors being off set wrong . Hope this helps
