2001 Pontiac with a squeaky front wheel Sign In

I have a 2001 Pontiac Gran Prix with 130,000 miles on it. Last week while pulling out of my garage a started to hear a squeak coming from the front left wheel . It would only happen when I was in reverse. Now today it has started to happen while I am driving it. It doesn't occur all of the time and happens at different speed. If I apply my brakes they do not make any noise. Any ideas?

Thanks

It’s likely worn brake pads and the warning tabs are just beginning to touch the brake rotor and make this squealing noise. If this is what the noise is it won’t be long before the squeal becomes a grind; so have the brakes checked as soon as you can.
