2000 Buick Le sabre making sqeaking noise when turning right. Sign In

I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre with about 180 000 (maybe more) miles on the car. It is making a really loud squeaking sound when I turn right (at lower speeds 25mph or lower). It seems to be the worst when the car is cold. After the car has been driven for about 20 miles or so, it seems to become a lot quieter and sometime quits all together. Other then the noise there seems to be no other problems effected by it. (no steering problems or anything like that) there also seems to be No signs of the tires wearing in an unusual way.
Its kind of hard for me to tell what side it is coming from, because it only usually last as long as a right turn. but I know its coming from the front end..

any suggestions?
Laura

You have lots of miles so many things are possible. By your description it's quite possible it's the brake wear indicator puctured above. Those are used in many disc brakes and usually make a noise that comes and goes at first and annoying enough to get your attention.

Sometimes you can just look thru the wheel and see these things are close enough to touch the rotor or even show evidence on the rotor. I suggest a full brake inspection even if work has been done recently there's enough miles on this for some surprises,
