..Started while driving at 55MPH, thought it was a flat. Tires all fine.Very loud thumping and only in back. Stopped in parking lot, couldn't see anything. Made sharp turn to leave, drove onto hwy, sound was gone. Drove 50 miles, no sound. On way back home sound started again. Loud, thumping, faster thumping with acceleration again...did another u turn...sound went away again. Left or right u turn doesn't seem to matter. It's as if something shifts out of the way, then works its way back again. I know it's not gone for good, just came and went tonight. Not sure if rt back or lt back, seems to switch. Drives fine otherwise. Loud clunk at it's worst, like something bounced off of something. 1998 regal 150,000. I think it's dying.
