There isn't a whole lot in the wheel part of the brake system that will make noise when the wheel isn't turning. Someone really need to just follow the noise to it's source while a helper is pressing the pedal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I don't know if I would go as far as changing it yet but I definitely would take it apart for inspection. Possibly the pad isn't sitting correctly on one end or maybe a frozen slide.

Another of my wild thoughts: Are these the correct wheels for this vehicle? There is some motion to a caliper sitting still but shouldn't hear anything. If somehow wrong wheels sometimes they can rub inside of wheel and you would see marks on both caliper and inside rim, T

This isn't rocket science. You just have to find the exact spot that is producing the noise. Since it will make the noise sitting still, that should be easy.

It's bugging you so have at it. I personally have never had a caliper make that type noise just sitting there still IF lubed properly and hardware in place. We aren't there, you are which is a huge advantage of course. This would be a first for me if somehow slight movement of the piston could make some squeak noise by itself. The rest can be lubed and should be if you took it off at the right spots anyway IMO, T

Nobody has advised to to just replace the caliper. You need to actually find the source of the noise.
