Head gasket sealant in brake reservoir

2001 Buick LeSabre 3.8 L V6 170,000 miles My friend put head gasket sealant in my brake fluid reservoir by mistake (almost a week ago). Noticed a problem right away. It felt crunchy when I used my brakes. He changed the brake line (was bad before he put in the sealant) and bled the brakes several times. It didn’t help, it was actually worse afterwards. He tried flushing it out. Nope, even worse afterwards. Today he took the master cylinder off to clean off any lingering gunk and bled the breaks some more. Unfortunately the problem (no brakes) gets continuously worse. I could kind of get the breaks to work at first but they are like non existent now. I’m pretty sure this has become a way bigger problem then a bad break line. Any idea about what I’m facing here before I try and fix it myself.

There's no question about that. This is one of the biggest problems you can have. The petroleum base in the fluid attacks anything with rubber in it. Your entire brake system is contaminated now and nothing short of changing every single brake component in the system will resolve the issue. This is to include ALL hydraulic parts such as brake calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, ABS hydraulic unit, all rubber flex lines and COMPLETELY flush the system. If you don't do this all simultaneously you will contaminate all the new parts all over again so don't try to shortcut the process as it will cause you to start all over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You're welcome but I'm not sure what the praying emoji is about. If you try to shortcut this process in any way by replacing less that ALL of the components at the same time you will simply destroy any new parts replaced and have to do it all over again.
