Our 92 pickup is a beater but shows 12,000 miles since the engine was replaced. My buddy says everybody tells him it's a great engine and to hold on to it...which we plan to do. I was told today, by a shop I had heard was reputable, that new front brakes [and bearings on one side] were going to cost 800+ bucks and since the back little piston things were leaking, that would be 390 more. I feel like a fool cuz I thought 200 max. Why am I so far off? I felt taken advantage of but it's not my money. My buddy/partner was pretty shocked too (but he's 92!) Hey all, I miss carjunkys. It's been a few years. Cindy in Silverton via the Oregon Coast

Your shop is just a bit too pricey. Why don't you get a second opinion They are maybe a couple hundred too high. I figure pads and rotors $300,bearing $300, rear wheel cylinders $200 would be average. If this is a 2WD, the bearing should be way cheaper as you are already removing them with the rotors. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That's what I was looking for! Thank you so much! I would love to go in and ask them to do the work for 850 or I'll go somewhere else but that might make them mad so, I will get another quote. I love carjunkys! Cindy in Silverton via the Oregon Coast
