Hello,

My opposite door neighbour reversed into the passenger door of my W reg Peugeot 106 (106 XN, Zest 2, 3 door hatchback, 1124CC, 120,000 miles).

The door can still be opened and closed, and still be locked. The window only winds down half way now but i dont need the window wound down fully ever anyway.
The car is still perfectly drive-able

Do you know which kind of business's can beat out these body dents?

I just want the very cheapest beat-out job. I dont need it re-sprayed or anything

Also, do you know how much it might cost?

Not a body tech but have a clue. Same body shop that would fix it totally would also decide if it could be straightened via assorted methods or that it would be too much beat up unseen now to ever be right and suggest new or used one to fix.

Almost all cars have a hidden support for added strength inside door which probably bent. Same shop would have to look to know and some might do that while you wait if you didn't care about finishing back too looking like it was.

Have done a few myself like you are looking to do/have done. Some will pop back and some just get other or more things in trouble and need to know the difference.

Bent metal when unbent back has been stretched so it near certainly won't look nice but could get close. Everything is also about safety too. If declared it isn't strong again to do whatever could be a stopper. If where you are is strict enough about even cosmetic body things it could make the car technically illegal to use. Here state by state you can have dents, lousy looking but exactly where I am you can't have anything sharp that could hurt someone just walking by.

In short you are looking for an auto body and paint shop is what I'll call it. Perhaps you'd also call is collision repair. Some places like new car dealers handle about anything on a car or have agreements with shops for things they don't do at the same location.

Door functions as you said except for window so I think you have a chance of just straightening it and if lucky that alone would do. If the window regulator was damaged that still would have to be inspected in person as to fix or replace that. Some of what now probably looks dented in will spring back out more than the second it was hit so again remains unknown for sure till checked with door panel off which those shops do routinely.

If I named the type place you need just ask any repair shop if they or who in your area would give that a try. You might be surprised that if you say just make it functional and not pretty the cost might be quite reasonable. It's the finish work that takes real talent and time,

T

Over here there are mobile dent guys that will pound out a dent for few bucks. Its never perfect and usually doesn't look pretty but when they're done it usally doesn't look as bad as when they started.....

They will advertise on Craigs List or some other popular local site, sometimes they will even hit you up in the parking lot of a store when you come out to your car. They cruise around looking for work......

Check you local sites, I imagine they have to be over there as well, body work is world wide & exspensive when you do it right.

One footnote, if you go the online route, don't have them come out to your home, if you have to, have them do it in the parking lot of where you work......

Do you have a "Plumber's helper"? You know the big thing with a suction cup on the end of a stick. If so, take it and plant it squarely in the middle of the dent, then pull it hard. If the dent pops out, you have what you are looking for. If it doesn't pop out, then you need to push it out from the inside. That would require taking the inside trim panel off, to get to the access hole on the inside of the door. That isn't as simple as it might sound sometimes. Either way, it will still look bad, but your window will probably function o.k. It sounds like the outer panel is interfering with the operation of the window.
