I have a 2012 Honda Pilot EX-L. Unfortunately, in a parking garage the other day I hugged a wall to avoid some construction materials and ended up running along the curved edge of a low hanging pipe from the ceiling. I didn't feel it and only barely heard a rubbing sound (it was muffled because construction machines were running), but I ended up with a crumple along the top side edge of my passenger side from front to back. The damage seems limited to the bar that runs between the passengers doors and the roof (no damage to doors or roof that I can see) , but it does run front to back. I can't imagine this is something that can be fixed with dent repair, but all of the replacement parts I look up seem to indicate that bar is connected to the rear side panel of the passenger side. Am I looking at having to replace the whole back panel in its entirety just to fix that bar? I am bringing the car for an estimate, but not until Monday and I'm hoping to get some idea of what I'm looking at before then. We have been contemplating a trade in, so perhaps this is the time if its going to be major repair (to avoid the insurance hit). Thanks!

It's nearly i possible to make an auto body estimate without a very close examination and totally impossible without even a picture. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Ditto. Even with pics can't know exactly or unseen damage. If trading soon anyway on your list go for it. Expect trade value to be the lowest and let the dealer take care of it off your record if so important and can be. Still get some idea so you know what to expect from a real body shop to help you decide and what you are bargaining with, T
