Great - you found the open forums. Nothing happening when you turn to start is usually a bad battery cable connection and could be either end, trigger wire not getting power at starter from ignition switch, bad starter or other things possible. Turn on with a known good and home fully charged battery an interior light as a test. If it/they go out when starter is requested then it's usually a main battery cable connection as starter is take all the power but not even enough to click, give that machine gun sound from the solenoid. If you get any noise with a helper trying to start car listening from underhood report what you hear. If a single click at starter, give it a love tap and it may start up but it's not fixed yet. That's good info. Also a simple test light for now would help tell what has power and when. Go for an LED scratch awl type where handle lights up with wire and alligator clip - can be found for under ten bucks, T

That suggests the starter isn't taking its usual monster draw from the battery. Either very poor connections or starter itself likely, T
