Bad Solenoid? Sign In

Hi Guys,
You've helped me before...once again I ask for help. I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota SLT 4 door, 4wd, AC, auto trans.w/ a 6 cyl., 4.9 L (?) engine. Had 2 solenoids replaced when I had only high gear left, drove the truck 150 mi before I could get it in a shop. After 2 solenoids replaced, the truck has a problem between low and medium gears with a violent lurch. The shop manager told me it was in the tranny...too bad for me. Could it actually be that a defective solenoid was installed?

Hello,
This engine must be a 3.9, the 2 solenoids that were replaced were probably the govenor pressure solenoid and the transducer. Did you have codes for these solenoids, are there any codes now? i would check the output speed signal. Gary
