I have a 1999 Toyota 4 runner 3.4 four wheel drive. have to replace front rotor dust shields. the bearing assembly has to be removed to do so. my question is can the bearing be pressed out and back in with out damaging it. and at what point do you press on, to remove. the slip ring, speed censer ring, or the spline part of the hub. yes I know not a fun job LOL

You'll need a new bearing. It is impossible to reuse the old one. You have to replace the inner and out grease seals also, so you'll need those. Your best bet is to remove the knuckle and let a shop press the bearing for you. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

well I have access to a press and feel I can handle it. have done similar ones in the past, but that was to just replace the bearing. most end up toast being removed. just wanted another head, in on this. thanks for the respond
