I have a 2004 F350 6.0 Liter Diesel turbo engine with no output from the alternator. The alt gets hot yet doesn't show more than 12.2 volts. I just had the batteries replace 5 months ago, replace the alternator, cleaned the terminals and grounds. I am stuck on an island with only a voltmeter and would have to barge to the mainland which costs $300.00 so trying to fix it here.
I did the 15 minute run at 2000 rpm with lights and fan on and rechecked the voltage and still shows only 12.2volts.

I have charged the batteries separate and checked the specific gravity of each cell and all is well. So I am out of answers for now. Any advice?

Check for power at the main terminal of the alternator with the key OFF.
If you don't have power there, look for a fusible link that is between the alternator and the battery.

Glad to hear you found it. Just make sure your still using fusible wire in line there.
