2001 TOYOTA TACOMA DOUBLE CAB 3.4 V6 engine 94,438 MILES AS OF LAST WEEK I SAW SOME SMOKE COMING OUT OF MY EXHAUST. AT FIRST I JUST THOUGHT SINCE ITS COLD OUTSIDE ITS FROM THAT THE NEXT DAY IT WAS 95 OUTSIDE AND IT STILL DID IT FOR 5 MINUTES. SO I TOOK IT HOME AND PARKED IT. I CALLED A SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME TO CHECK THE OIL AND DO A FLUSH. SO I GOT SOME BG ENGINE CLEANER AND DID THE WHOLE THING. NOW IT SMOKES FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND GOES AWAY. THEY TOLD ME BLOWN VALVE GAUSKETS, VALVE GUARD, SPARK PLUGS. DID THE OIL AND THE PLUGS. SHOULD I DO SOMETHING MORE?

Are you and have you been "haphazzard" with oil changes with this vehicle? Seems like it. Sounds like it improved a lot - mostly from changing the oil. Bet if you just selected a high end synthetic for higher mile engines the issue would be reduced to about nothing to tend to for now, T
