It sounds like your carbs are plugged up. You need them to be cleaned and synchronized. Do that and you should be able to enjoy the bike. It'll set you back a couple hundred most likely at a bike shop, but with the gas mileage you will get out of the bike it pays for itself quickly with the gas prices we're getting now. I bought my 1100 Yamaha when it did the same thing. After a professional clean and synch it was screaming like a raped ape. The gas in the carbs is old, likely has ethanol in it, and has degraded into sludge and varnish that plug up the little metering jets inside that add fuel. If you don't know how to work on carbs I advise you now to not try it. Too many very small pieces and springs that like to go PINGGG over your shoulder without warning to be lost forever. Even if you could get it apart, cleaned and back together properly you need a mercury synchronizer to tune the cylinders to each other. Otherwise it will start hard, run like crap and not have enough power to get out of its own way.

hi
i have a 1983 Kawasaki 1100 kz , i monitored blue smoke coming out from both pipes \ my mechanic changed the valve seals and gaskets and adjusted them , he also said the compression was satisfactory at 160 FOR TWO and little less for the other two .

i got the back BACK LAST NIGHT noticed blue smoke coming out from the left pipe only ,when i rev the engine in neutral and apparently left pipe is connected to the cylinder with higher compression .

what do you guys suggest
