Holden Astra Convertible- roof problems

Hi everyone, I am in desperate need for some help. I want to sell my 2001 Holden Astra convertible. I believe the roof is broken, will not open and just keeps beeping at me. After reading lots of Internet posts by the looks of things it's very costly to repair. Is there some sort of group of people (eg wreckers) that buy cars that have faults. I have no idea what to do and I do not want to pay for the car repairs I just want to get rid of it. Can anyone help me an give some ideas? Thankyou for your help!!

before you jump the gun and scrap your car, why don't you have it looked at first and get an estimate for repair? Might not be as bad as you think. But why you would scrap a car because the top doesn't go down? Thats probably the worst reason I've ever heard. Besides, it would cost more to get another car than to fix whats wrong with this one.

Nick's suggestion is a good one, you might be making a mountain out of a mole hill. If the expense of repair is too costly or the car is a giant POS, you might want to ask some local repair shops what they do with junk cars. They might give you some ideas or even give you a phone number to people that would take it off your hands. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Thanks. It's just I've had so many problems with that car in the past 12 months and its already cost me a lot to have repaired. I'm just not sure if there's even a point trying to sell it, after all who would want to buy a convertible if the roofs not working. That's why I was just wondering if there is a certain group of people out there that would buy it. Thanks again.

There are people that would buy it even if it meant they had to drive it while holding umbrellas, especially if it is running. Still wouldn't hurt to see why the roof doesn't work. first. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
