Diagnostic Equipment

What diagnostic equipment are you using these days? I'm mainly asking about scanners and lab scopes. I.E. Modus, Vantage Pro etc...
If you could upgrade or buy which brand and what model would you choose and why.
How about the newer laptop based versions? Pro's Con's
I have all the SnapOn Scanners, The Vantage Pro, Tech II, a few OEM's, Determinator (Matco), and few low grade cheap ones.

I have a old snap on mtg-2500 for now, and a few cheap off brand code readers.
As for a lab scope, i just have a cheap $190 one channel scope.
When I upgrade my scanner I'd like to pick up a solus pro.

Scotty , I still have that solus pro. You will not find a better deal anywere. SOLUS PRO like new ,with case .version is 10.4 and no euro. unless your working on 2011 and 2012 cars, which is doubtful, this unit will cover most of what you need. And it does have asian and all the keys. If you were to update it, it would cost you about a grand, so you would still be cheaper than financing a new one. $4200 invested . for you $1995.00

The last update year for the mt-2500 was 2008.

Yeah,what I meant or should've said the most I've seen on ebay was updated to 2002 0r 3 or so. (That was when I last checked, been a long time) I havent updated for years on mine because I bought newer equipment.

Re-tired, I really wish I had the money to buy it off you cause 2k is darn cheap for that but , Right now I'm hardly lucky enough to have money for gas.
I'm taking some old lawn mowers i had to the metal recyclers this weekend for some extra pocket money.
Been going through some rough times.
If i win a few thousand in the lotto your solus will be the first thing I'll buy. lol

Thats one good thing about being a mechanic. We can fix our own cars. Well, some of us can.

Our shop has a Mac Tormenter/OTC Genisys. We are now trying out an Autel MaxiDas cause we do all makes and the Geni isn't keeping up with the times even after the major expensive updates. I'd like to get hold of a Launch system, but shop's owner is tight. We have an old Tek scope that was converted for automotive use. I'm working on getting a 4 channel Pico.

You know, I saw that picture years ago & damn if I looked & looked and could not find that thing again......
Thx 4 posting it, I'm saving it now & I know of couple guys that are really gonna be hatin on you.......
I haven't used a Pico but from what I've seen they are a very nice unit (yea, it's on the list  )......I don't know all the ins & outs but I believe going thru Autonerdz you get some more perks & better support from what I've heard...
I don't know if you've play around with their virtual scope but if you're bored & looking for something to mess around with...It's kinda fun

I been to Autonerdz website many times and I keep drooling over their accessories. They have a couple of videos of some tough case vehicles that they figured out. The Wrangler From Hell would of drove me nuts if that came into our shop.

I'd like to have a Pico too.
I like being able to use my labtop so i can have repair information at the car also.

Mr Scotty, I too also like having the laptop for accessing other info too. Plus I have the laptop with me all the time on service calls so....
The Pico is nice, it has a lot of functions and good support backing. when we had any problems or questions Tom was available for answers (He also provides training materials and classes).
