I'm shopping for a new car, and am completely lost. Based on what is available at dealerships in my area, the top contenders are: 1. 2007 Ford Fusion sedan- 27,476 miles- list price $11,995 2. 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 S sedan- 62,163 miles- $11,973 3. 2008 Ford Focus SE sedan- 75,255 miles- $10,500 4. 2007 Nissan Versa SL Hatchback- 62,906 miles- $10,189 5. 2008 Kia Optima LX sedan- 37,117- $10,995 6. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback (manual)- 62,285- $10,779 I don't want to make a bad decision, and would LOVE input on what car I should buy. The main things I am looking for are reliability, safety, and cost (my budget is $11,000). Also, what is a reasonable price for me to offer on each car when I start the negotiations? Thanks in advance for your advice!

I would buy Fusion providing it's not AWD(all wheel drive). The AWD model has few issues that are expensive to repair in that particular year. Other then that fantastic car. 4 star front and rollover crash rating and 5 star side impact rating. both v6 and I-4 are both good on gas. Front end suspension is European designed and haven't seen any issues with front end components seem to last forever. Rear breaks tend to have short life on fusion due to poor design in that year. You usually replace the rears twice before replacing the front breaks. aprox 60,000km from rear breaks 100,000km from front (best case scenario, depends on the driver) Focus's are great car too low maintenance, great on gas, sway links are common problem on them, but they are very cheap to repair. No real major problems. I personally find them to tinny and noisy while driving, but they have gotten better in 08 and up compared to the 04-06 for noise level. Find them a little under powered with the automatic transmission, it's ok with stick. 5 star side impact, 3 star front and rear and 4 star rollover. Hope this helps

I may die trying but this site will win! Z - hang on - now guys (yes I know girls in biz) Z - check out "mod" tools. It should give you a chance to stop an action - just be sure - once gone it's gone if you do that! Entrusted by me if not the owner of site to do what you see is wrong and there will be plenty, Tom
