If the traction battery in my '09 Hybrid Camry gets drained from running A/C while I am stuck in a traffic jam on a hot day, will the car keep running on the gas engine? What happens when this battery hits zero on the dashbd. display?

I don't really work on a lot of hybrids other than some basic services so can only offer you a little info I believe that is a Gen III hybrid and as with most hybrids the battery gets charged when the gas engine is running. I believe on that one it moniter the HV battery pack (the expensive ones) and when the state of charge gets too low, it will start the gas engine to charge them. So when you are sitting in traffic running off the HV batteries, if the state of charge gets too low you should feel/hear the gas engine come on. Those batteries have a pretty good warranty on them but if you suspect there is a charging problem, definitely take it in to be checked
