Headlight Restoration Sign In

A great tip for avoiding night time accidents is to make sure your that your headlights are free of that hazy film that accumulates over time because the factory finish has deteriorated badly. This is especially important at night when visibility is already low. According to the US Department of Transportation, one of the biggest problems with headlights was the plastic cover of the headlight lens. Since the early 90’s clear plastic headlights have been made standard on almost every car. The plastic lenses become damaged and cloudy from exposure to UV rays, harsh weather conditions and acid rain. The lenses start to cloud and before long the light output becomes greatly diminished.
Link deleted has come up with a great solution to this problem. Removal of the old haze, and applying a new life long finish in fewer than 10 steps. At this time I would recommend taking your car to a business that offers this type of repair or restoration, but I believe that in the future they will have a kit for the consumer. I’ve compared the pricing on replacement headlights for many makes, and found that just restoring the plastic lens can save hundreds of dollars.
