found burnt female plug under dash caused by clutch pedal bracket rubbing against wiring harness everytime the clutch pedal was depressed. could not get a new female plug so I hardwired it back together. I had cruise after that but it would surge up and down and not keep a steady speed. replaced transducer and now there is no cruise at all. put old transducer in to check if new one was bad,but same result, nothing. there is low voltage going to transducer but do not know what to check next.

Is the speedometer working properly as that would be required for cruise control operation.

Also check all the vacuum lines. I would even do a smoke test on the vacuum to look for leaks.

Here is the electrical diagram.

speedometer works fine and replaced all vacume lines. had to go with slightly smaller on the 9/32 hoses because could not get that size in fractions. had to go with milimeters, so it is a hair smaller.
