I need a good trick to remove a rusted/stuck on tire from the rear drivers side of my 95 GMC Sierra 4x4. I live in Maine where there is a lot of corrosion and rust happening. I went out the other day to rotate my tires and couldn't get the left rear tire off. I hammered it with a regulat hammer but no luck. My son-in-law said that I should have used a hand sledge and hammered the crap out of it and it will come loose eventually?????? Anyone have any good ideas or is he right?

Make sure you spray some penetrating oil around the hub area. The small sledge works on most but a few it just won't. When all else fails, go to a large parking lot and back all the lug nuts off half way and they drive in a circle until the wheel starts to wobble. then jack it up and remove the wheel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Gotta love it - the Hammer is right again of course. It will remove and I suggest a heavy rubber hammer to NOT damage wheel. A smear of grease on hub and it won't happen again. I've seen this so bad in some that wheel had to be cut off with torches! Not funny! T
