hello all

i am hear to basically get a confirmation so that i can give someone a piece of mind on this topic

our automatic vehicle's gear selector indicator needle is out of alignment.

please confirm that this and this alone is not an indication that the transmission is going out.

thank you xD

You're not going to get any kind of answer if you don't post year, make, model and engine size.

okay thanks for the heads up

it is a 2004 Mercury Gran Marquis LS 4.6L V8

there's no indication that anything is wrong with the transmission

i'm simply trying to give a family member a piece of mind that the gear select indicator being out of aliment has nothing to do with the transmission

thank you

You are correct sir, it does not.

It is a small string on a pulley connected to the steering column that is adjustable with a little plastic wheel.
