What might be problem for tranny not lining up properly after replacing old clutch with new one? If truck on car ramps could this be possible reason for not lining up? And if so, if I take truck off ramps will this help ?

What is this thing other than just a clutch job probably RWD? Just a disc or the whole job? Did you let trans hang and bend disk before getting trans tight enough? Pilot tool used to center disk? Support for trans that hold it in line and so on. "On Car Ramps!" This isn't going to allow for the best of equipment so may require some extra help for just this part then you could finish up. First thing is what is this thing? T

First off, if the car is on ramps and isn't level, the trans will not be level when going in and be very difficult to line up. Second, If you didn't align the disc perfectly when it was installed, you are never going to get the trans to go in no matter what you do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Yes - ramps suk. threw all I had out declared unsafe by me but did a couple plain clutch jobs but also hoisted rear to match so vehicle was level. There are alignment pegs in most you must line up along with disc being in exact spot, turn output shaft it "boxing" the splines and in easy without weight of trans stressing it out or wrecks the job. If not closing in the last bit evenly and you force it you'll bust more than I ever have but serious problems could happen. If stuck, take it back out and see what's going wrong, T
