Slow accerlation?

2016 Nissan Versa S+ (CVT transmission) 1.6 L 4 cyl 2000 miles So the vehicle is fairly new. Today after work I noticed that the acceleration became obviously bad. It was normal up until today. Normally the RPM would be around 1.5-2k for a decent acceleration rate. Today, I had to hit the gas far enough to hit about 4k rpm to accelerate at the same rate (and I can clearly hear the engine work harder). It also feels like the tires has more friction so I'm not sure. Normally when I start the vehicle, it would start rolling (without gas) at about 10-15 mph when it is in drive (usually in hotter temperatures). After work today, however, it feels like it aged a few decades; was struggling to crawl forward and most of the initial gas seems to go into converting that excess static friction to kinetic. Feels like trying to accelerate in mud. The problem is not really noticeable once I reach highway speeds though. I'm clearly not a car expert, but the acceleration different from this morning and afternoon was that obvious. I first thought it was a tire problem, but... maybe not? 2000 miles, had new vehicle for about 5 months? Does my regular warranty cover this? I believe it comes with 2 year bumper-to-bumper and 5 year powertrain if under 20000 miles or so. Thanks!

Stop! You've had this from new just 5 months and now just 2,000 miles if the problem isn't an accident, abuse, flood or something clearly not covered it's covered by full warranty. Touching it yourself could void that. Take it back no matter what it is not right. Not covered on about anything is tires by car maker or damage. At this age you could argue for new wipers not covered normally either. Do read what your warranty covers and your responsibility to keep it in effect. Lapses in time or maintenance can and will void out things so keep track of what you are supposed to be doing, T
