This thread in wiring and electrical seems from what I found to belong in transmission section to me. Too involved if my info is correct for most DIYers. Didn't move the whole thread as if that fails (sometimes does now that it's replied to) it will confuse the whole question and can separate and I can't put them back one done if it does that. Thanks, Tom This thread........... http://autoforums.carjunky.com/...t=search_engine#last ^^^^^ Hope that will just click for you?

Hello, I honestly have never done this before, i just checked a wiring diagram and all the wires at the trans range sensor all go to the transmission control module. Possibly something may have to be done at the tcm. Im going to ask someone tommorrow to see if he knows. These switches go bad all the time, i just did a jeep wrangler with a no start and i have a caravan coming in on monday for a range switch. Just to confirm there is no crank when you turn the key

Came across a PDF diagram that may be correct and probably can't copy it to here but was........... starting-chargi...-1-of-1 (1).pdf IDK - Looking at that there's a lot going on thru BCM too Mopar style and does suggest to me that it could be jumped but not convinced yet this isn't just plain wear of linkage as the car is now 21 years old. #1 - Sorry I couldnt't or rather didn't dare combine this thread as it surely would have lost something as it had been replied to - my fault that those don't move properly or I'm doing something wrong. Lone threads move just fine or me. Back to it: We don't know yet unless it's posted already if power does make it to trigger wire or not and the problem is right there or not? In short I'm not convinced this is a switch problem at all but rather linkage of any style cable, rods, pivots, ball socket ends, plastic pinched or what is worn possibly not adjustable easily now never thinks it's in either "P" or "N" It was mentioned this problem came on a little at a time so I'm really thinking linkage or position locking mechanism part wear at this age is highly likely NOT the sensor at all? Tom
