Hi everyone, seems like a pretty cool forum here glad to have found it Having a bit of a head scratching around my HZJ75 Landcruiser, when the rear wheels slip especially offroad there is a nasty high pitch grinding noise, it doesn't seem to occur on tar. The rear diff is an LSD, and is filled with the correct amount of LSD Oil. Have changed rear wheel bearings, and have checked rear brakes to see if anything is rubbing but it hasn't changed anything also have changed gearbox and transfer case oils. Only problem surrounding the area that i can see is a slightly worn Uni joints, but they don't seem horrendously bad. Any help from you legends would be Appreciated. Cheers 1993 HZJ75 LandCruiser Utility 1HZ 4.2 Diesel

The problem is the side clutches are chattering when engaged. Adding a friction modifier will usually resolve that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
