Gmc pick up Truck runs but doesn't move..!

I bought someone's Frankenstein project truck thinking i could finish it up and get i working.. So it's a 1995 gmc 2500 on a 1987 gmc frame, has a 5.7L V8 with a 4L60E trans.. The previous owner assembled thetruck. I got it to my place and started working on it. I got brakes straighten out, rest of front nose on & aligned. Ran wiring for all the lights.Gave engine tune up & it runs great. I checked to see if trans was connected both at the block and the fly/converter connection, and it is.. But i notice trans lines were cut, trans was looped into itself with fuild. I fixed the lines to the way they should be & filled system with ATF. Top off. I've run the truck multiple times, shifting thru the gears and giving little gas. But the truck goes no where, won't move.. When in gear trans sound like it's undersome kind of load but still no action.. Previous owner said he looped trans so he can move it.😱😤😵 Some plz help me. Not sure what else to do besides ripping apart and doing it all over again.

This IMO is more about being really good at Frankenstein jobs than that it doesn't move by shifter? You've covered a lot of model years changes by who knows get made to linkage from column shifter to the right spot at the trans. You can undo that, rear wheels off the ground and turn that by hand to shift this. I'd see if it does and chase that down if not what you will do about it. I think it's a cable inside casing you might be able to adjust depending on what years for what. If lifted IDK, make something. The looping trans cooler lines that would have gone to radiator or both a cooler and radiator you can just make most of thoseup like fuel or brake line again depending on what model years get the right ends and make the rest. This happened OE to a neighbor's truck, the metal that received the cable's instructions to move rusted out was dangling isn't your issue was also newer than all years you mentioned, T

Sorry i didn't quite understand what you were trying to say, please restate. Thank you. I reconnected the trans lines the way they should be. I filled the trans with fuild till topped off, when warmed up.. I shifted the truck into gear with the column didn't work, (cable & linkage is new) i shifted the truck by physically moving the linkage on the trans under the truck, still nothing. Doesn't matter what gear i put it in, nothing happens I'll jack up the back end, try spinning the axle by hand and also putting trans in gear to see if it'll spin the tires while in the air.. I'll come back to relay results.. My worse fear is that previous owner by looping the trans lines back into trans without rad or cooler, burned the trans pump up..? Not sure it's possible..

It didn't burn up the pump by by-passing coolers for ATF. It might not be a good trans in the cards. Back: Thinking I said lift rear wheels is ONLY if 2WD as you'd have engine running and be under it turning it by hand, better with a helper count the clicks from locked in park on to reverse N D D2 2 + 1. A new cable I can't believe is correct? Just the years, frame locations to route it admit I don't do non OE stuff but lots do. Frames don't stay exactly the same from 1/2 ton on up. Expecting added strength in areas move some other thing. The coupling of trans to engine if done wrong (I'm not the specialist here in trans alone) but have good clue. If you or another boxed the converter and kept tightening it up you did do damage IMO. Exactly what IDK but pressure on torque converter on to front pump (there is no rear pump since the 50s) requires pressure for trans to do anything. That or "gsferraro" here, the specialist if time will tell you how to air pressure spots to make it operate it clearly isn't. My whole point is this thing may always think it's in park or was left in "N" and stayed there? IDK, something broke in handling the thing the same reason to make a loop out of cooling line to move it all around while creating this Frankenstein! Not my game but GM has the most pre-made stuff to mess with their trucks for decades older than any of your components. If you've checked at the side of trans by hand with engine running and wheels didn't turn my guess is there is no fluid pressure at all. They could still turn and not enough so try hitting parking brake (hope it works well) hard to put a load on trans. This trans is popular anyway helps need the specialist if it needs electricity somewhere or won't move? I tend to doubt it but wait for the real answer for this trans his sign off name is Gary, Tom

Hello, Would like to know if it moves in any gear from drive to manual low, make sure T-case(if 4x4) is not in neutral I'm not sure why it stopped moving when you hooked up the cooler lines, usually if the cooler is blocked it may stall the car. Any transmission codes? Gary
