Ford Fiesta finesse 2003 1.3, tried to knock into first and it won't go, reverse makes a horrible grinding noise, left it two days and it let me into hear but had to be forst, lasted 20 mins and went again, now it will go into gear but Judders when j have the clutch fully down, someone said it could be the clutch realise bearing and another said clutch slave cylinder, any thoughts, Thanks, Dave

Hydraulic clutch linkage no doubt. See if it shift fine with engine off. IF yes than there's a high chance the master or slave cylinder has failed. Check fluid level for it. If way too low find out why. Don't allow it to grind like that or force it get that taken care of right away as it's too hard on transmission/gearbox or what you call it, T

This is totally consistent with a clutch linkage (hydraulic or not) failure. Can be hard to know if master or slave cylinder, a flexible hose or mechanical part of how it works. If not in general poor shape, rusty or abused by anything I think slave cylinders are most likely. Some very hard to replace and bleed out properly. Don't know this specific vehicle just the problem is fairly common to hydraulic clutches over time, luck and miles, T
