Gear automatically switches from 5th to Neutral while driving

Vehicle Specification
Make : Honda
Model: City
Year : 2008 - 10th Anniversary edition
Engine size 1.3
Type : Manual

Facing this problem while driving in 5th Gear, as it is automatically turning in to Neutral.

Due to this reason, not able to hit more than 60-80 kilometers.

Changed the Gear box and shoe and still the issue is Occurring.

Total kilometers run : 72000 +

Please advise why this problem is occurring and solution if any.

Not sure what a shoe is that you mentioned. Two possible issues are causing that. (1) either the clutch is slipping or (2) the shifter is popping out of 5th gear. You have to determine which one it is.

Hi,

Thanks for your timely reply.

Not sure about the name of the part which got replaced. It is kind of rubber material which locates right under Gearbox. it could be "Gear Pad".

(1) All other 4 gears are working perfectly except 5th one. If clutch is slipping, will all other work perfectly. Please advise me. I could be naive here

(2) When saying shifter, you referring to the "gear nob" ?
