Hi. I have a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse 5 speed manual trans with a DOHC 2.0 engine is to have around 100k miles transmisson not too sure looks after market. i just purchased the vehicle and figured with the squealing and it not wanting to go into gear all to easy it would be the clutch/TOB. now i replaced it and when i test drove it seems the clutch got softer and softer and even before that it would grind changing gears and when i went to pull it into the driveway the clutch pedal stayed to the floor and car contenued to go like the clutch would not disengage. I bled the hydrolic system multiple times seems no air in the hydrolic fluid. I checked the slave and master cylinder and they look brand new no leaks seem to be happening there is a pretty loud rattle in the gear box as well so im out of ideas at this point and seeking some professional advice any advice would be great iv tried doing research on my own but hard to really match my issue up with others that or i want loking hard enough. ty!

If you have no external leaks from the slave, more than likely you have an internal leak inside the clutch master. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

well i looked under the steering column seen no leaks there though the pin to the transmission to the clutch fork does move. as far as how far its supposed to move idk looks like its moving an inch or two. but il check that out.. i take it theres no way to really check externally from what your saying cause i dont see any fluids.

The actual piston cup seal is probably allowing fluid pressure to leak around it and back up into the reservoir when your holding the clutch pedal down. The piston cup seal is inside the clutch master bore. You won't be able to see it externally. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
