I posted this video on youtube. If I'm coasting between 20 and 40 mph, and I gently push down on the gas to accelerate, the rpms spike and I feel a jerk. It happens in auto or manual mode, and I tested it in manual mode to make sure the car stayed in one gear to eliminate a shifting issue. Anyone else experience this? What could be causing this? Transmission issues? Torque converter issues?

First thing to do is check your fluid level, are there any trouble codes present.

I checked the owners manual, and there is no dipstick to check the fluid level. :( Could it be a slipping torque converter? It feels like the engine revs freely for a couple hundred rpms (only lasts about a second or two) and then the transmission engages which causes the jerking sensation. The dealer said it was transmission lash, but that seems like way too much lash.

Correct, this has to up on a lift to get checked, Question, if you drive this normally and let it shift up to 6th, do you feel anything? or is it only when coasting and then you accelerate again

If I accelerate from 0 to 70 normally (or quickly), it shifts fine and I don't feel anything. It's only when I'm coasting from around 20 to 40 mph and begin accelerating again (driving in traffic, etc...). The interesting thing is, it is only noticeable when accelerating gently or normally. If I accelerate quickly, it downshifts and seems okay (I expect a slight jerk with the downshift).

Well, everything seems to be working the way it should, i would still have the fluid level checked. How many miles on your car? The only thing i can really think of is when you go for kick down, the computer is going to increase line pressure to hold the clutch on, that could be the jolt that your feeling.

I made an appointment with a highly rated dealer in the area. Hoping for a solenoid issue. I'll keep you guys posted.

? Are you sure you are off warranty on this vehicle? Drivetrains can be longer that bumper to bumper and worth a check,

Fixed under warranty. Turns out the transmission control module had some settings that were off, so they reflashed it back to the factory settings, and we are all good now. Cool
