1999 Eclipse transmission wont engage

The other day I was casually driving down the road (45mph) when the car seemed to try and shift and then all of a sudden it started coasting as if it was in Neutral. There was no abnormal sounds or clunks or anything it just stopped working. It will not move in R,D,2,L and I can physically see the lever on top of tranny (hooked to shift linkage) moving but the tranny just stays silent thru all of the gears (wont engage). The car has a reman transmission and torque converter that was installed by a shop 3.5yrs, 30k miles ago and is now out of warranty as well as shop no longer existing. The transmission fluid looks great, light pink, no odor of any sort really. My assumption is that the Torque Converter probably went but Im baffled at how there was no signs of it going or sound when it went and that there is no noise coming from transmission when running now. Transmissions are far from my forte so any help is greatly appreciated. 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse spyder 2.4L SOHC 125k

Sorry I forgot to mention that, Park does engage and it does not roll, but it does roll in all other gears as if its in neutral.

OK - if it did roll would likely be a 1/2 shaft not splined in. Forget that now. Guess I'd be on to checking pressures and not my specialty so wait if you can as site does have a trans specialist much better at what and where you would check next, T

Hello, With the car running, i would like for you to check the fluid level, look at the stick to see were the full mark is, the fluid will either be on the full mark or way above the full mark, post back what you see. Gary

Hello, With the fluid way up on stick, your transmission pump is no good. They can go bad just like that. Not much you can do other than pull the trans. The fluid is way up on the stick because the trans pump is not turning possibly broken gears. Gary
