New wheels and tires Sign In

I recently got some new wheels and tires and noticed I had a flat. I pulled the tire off and tried to air it up but noticed there was a knot and it wouldn’t hold air. I took it to the shop and it looked like something was jammed in the tire and chalked it up to I must have hit something. The tire shop said it looked like something tore the inside of the tire up. Noticed another tire doing the same. Has anyone seen anything like this? Is someone maybe trying to slash maybe. You can see in the pic that there is what looks like metal in between the rim and tire but no scratches or damage around. Like it was inserted with precision. Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/8P8kxzK

That's a defect in the tire sidewall. It's dangerous and needs to be changed asap.
It could be a manufacturers defect or you could've of hit something and broke some belts. From the pics, these look like truck tires, so if you were getting a little crazy off road, that might have done it. Google the brand & type and see there are some issues with that tire.

I would inspect all 4 tires very closely

That's a broken bead. The sidewall is pulling away from the bead.

DEFINITELY do not put that on the car.
