1999 Breeze Wheel Grinds When Driving: Sign In

Good morning! I noticed this metal on metal grinding sound months ago whenever I drove this car. After a few weeks it got louder and louder. I finally got under the car to see if I could see what was making it. I had my wife drive it ever so slowly while I looked under from the side. It was clearly the area circled in the picture grinding against the inside of the wheel. In the picture I have the car jacked up by the frame. But when not jacked up that circled part rests on the wheel itself. I assume the issue is the part pointed to above. But I am no wheel/axle/whatever expert (obviously lol). I haven't driven it in several months. But I finally have the free time to look into it now.

Does anyone have any suggestions as for what I could do to fix this? I'm a handy guy and have replaced wheels, brakes, starters, water pumps, etc, etc, lots of car parts. Just never anything to do with... whatever this is.

The torn rubber boot is for a ball joint. Noise? Alone not that but that joint if not failed will soon over that. Hard to see but brakes look worn out just by a guess at look inside surface of rotor and pins are fully in or close.
Hey there's lots there to make noise I suggest full check of joints that boot about mean new joint, look for evidence what's rubbing is probably brakes totally gone or one or both pins stuck hard.

Take those apart really check brakes not a glance with caliper still on.
Bearing? Hard it will have zero free-play if any it's wrecked don't drive it. If suspect most make noise shifting weight driving and on turns but the brakes look so lousy from the back lots on the list to really check - no guessing,

T
