Not sure what to suggest so just questions: Does this happen with heat only request and not with any other? Does it all work properly otherwise? Will it dissipate some with prolonged use? IDK, If you wish to dig into it check coolant level and for an drips coming from heater case usually onto passenger's side floor if heater core leaking. That near always has a distinct odor. Cabin air filter if equipped replace or check at least. Could probably pull out blower motor for a view inside or if motor or wires nearby look overheated OR rodent nest debris. Probably can only look around if everything is working? T

It really depends on what it smells like. You could have an engine oil leak dripping onto exhaust so the air intake sucks in an oil burning smell. You could also have an animal that crawled up into the heater and died. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
