Rear a c leak Sign In

98 dodge town and country-179000 miles 3.8
Can anyone tell me which side of my van has the rear a c lines going to the back ? I believe I have a leak in the rear and I’d rather just cut the lines and cap the and live with the a c in the front
Thanks

Re: Rear a c leak Sign In

What exactly are you planning to use to cap them off?
I'm not aware of any compatible hardware that will satisfactorily seal them off.

It should be pretty obvious looking under the truck but it appears they run down the left side.

Re: Rear a c leak Sign In

Most vehicles with rear a/c, tee off at the accumulator and high pressure liquid line and both lines run to the back.

The best way to get rid of the rear a/c with the best chance for no leaks would be to replace that line and accumulator with ones for front only a/c that doesn't have the tees.

That being said, once you get the trim panels off the rear a/c, it is fairly easy to leak check.

Find the leak, fix it and keep the van stock....plus your passengers will be very happy you keep the rear a/c.
